We are all members of the same tribe…the American tribe. To be able to call yourself an American is to be able to call yourself one of the most fortunate souls that history has ever known. To be in the tribe you simply swear allegiance. But you don’t swear allegiance to monarch, dictator or theocrat, you swear allegiance to a divinely inspired document…the Constitution of these United States.
The guardians of the Constitution are the U.S. Army. At the center of the design is a cross, peaceful and regal, much like our tribe. But when stirred to defense an almost mythical and deadly resolve is often authored. The cross is flanked by sharpened steel which symbolizes this determination. In the foreground two skulls adorned with Berets represent our soldiers standing guard at their posts. In the center of the cross is the foundation for our freedom, the U.S. Army star. Dusted into the background of the entire design is the U.S. Army Soldier’s Creed. The just and innocent always and will forever rest easy when they hear these words: “I am an American Soldier.”
